BIOGRAPHY
James Man acquired his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in Economics and International Studies at California State University, Long Beach. While studying for his undergraduate degree, James was elected President of the Economics Student Association. Further, he was awarded the honor of Five Time CSULB President’s List Scholar. James went on to earn his Juris Doctor Degree at Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law with a concentration in environmental, land use, and real estate law. While at Chapman, James earned a Distinguished Student Fellowship and the Dean’s award. He currently serves on the Fowler School of Law Alumni Advisory Board.
While obtaining his Juris Doctor Degree, James began his legal career as a law clerk with the Orange County District Attorney’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit. His experience simulating in-court debates and drafting pleadings, motions, and research memos has given him the crucial experience necessary to excel as an attorney.
Along with his background as a law clerk, James gained extensive legal experience working as a legal intern for the Newport Beach City Attorney’s Office. Here, he drafted criminal complaints to prosecute infractions and misdemeanors, advised on quasi-judicial decisions regarding exceptions to planning codes and building permits, and analyzed housing density bonus law and the city’s resolution for compliance with new state mandates.
James is fluent in Romanian. Outside of practicing law, his interests include urban planning and design, hiking in national parks, graphic design, volleyball, and road trips.
