BIOGRAPHY
Monique Nevarez is an associate attorney with Law Stein Anderson, where she focuses her practice on trust administration, trust and estate litigation, and estate planning. Monique represents trustees, beneficiaries, and families in all phases of trust and estate matters, including the administration of complex trusts, disputes involving breach of fiduciary duty, accounting and distribution issues, and petitions related to trust interpretation and modification.
Monique’s background as a former tax associate with KPMG, where she analyzed contracts and advised clients on tax qualifications under the IRS Research and Development Credit, gives her clients a distinct advantage in navigating the tax implications that often arise in trust administration and estate disputes. Her strong foundation in tax law allows her to approach each matter with an eye toward both legal strategy and tax efficiency, providing families with comprehensive and practical guidance during difficult transitions.
Known for her compassionate and empathetic approach, Monique works closely with families to resolve conflicts and carry out their loved ones’ wishes while preserving relationships whenever possible. She also continues to advise clients on select estate planning matters, including wealth transfers, succession planning, and charitable giving.
Monique earned her Juris Doctor from Chapman University Fowler School of Law, with emphases in Tax Law and Business Law. During law school, she served as Vice President of the Tax Law Society and Treasurer of the St. Thomas More Society. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a minor in Economics, from California State University, Los Angeles, where she graduated on the Dean’s List while also working as a certified in-home caretaker.
