Building Community and Connection: Aimee Paja Joins Filipino-American Lawyers of Orange County
At Law Stein Anderson, our attorneys bring experiences and perspectives to their work that extend well beyond the courtroom. For Associate Aimee C. Paja, that includes a legal career spanning two countries and a continued commitment to staying connected to the Filipino-American legal community.
Aimee recently joined Filipino-American Lawyers of Orange County (FLOC), an organization that brings together Filipino-American legal professionals throughout Orange County. Her involvement reflects both her personal background and a legal career that began long before she joined Law Stein Anderson.
A Career Shaped by Different Perspectives
Prior to joining FLOC, Aimee’s career was already shaped by a wide range of experiences.
She earned her law degree from the University of San Carlos in the Philippines and began her career as a Court Attorney at the Court of Appeals. After moving to the United States, she earned her Master of Laws from USC Gould School of Law and continued building her career in Southern California.
Aimee went on to clerk for a judge at the Los Angeles Superior Court and serve as a Deputy District Attorney in Orange County before transitioning into private practice. Before joining Law Stein Anderson, she also represented corporate clients in complex civil matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Today, Aimee focuses her practice at Law Stein Anderson on civil litigation and trust and estate litigation. She is admitted to practice law in both California and the Philippines and is fluent in Tagalog, Cebuano/Visayan, and Waray.
Each chapter of Aimee’s professional path has provided a different perspective on the law, but it has also reinforced the importance of relationships and community within the profession.
Staying Connected to the Filipino-American Legal Community
For Aimee, becoming involved with FLOC is a natural extension of a career shaped by both her Filipino roots and her professional life in Orange County.
“Growing up in the Philippines, I was raised with a strong sense of community and the belief that when you have the ability to help others, you should. That value has stayed with me throughout my life and continues to guide both my personal and professional journey. What drew me to FLOC was the opportunity to stay connected to my roots while giving back to a community that I’m proud to be part of.”
By participating in FLOC, Aimee has the opportunity to connect with other Filipino-American attorneys and members of the local legal community, while becoming more involved in a network that values mentorship, professional relationships, and service.
Her involvement is also an opportunity to bring her own experiences to the community. Having practiced within two different legal systems and built her career in Southern California, Aimee brings a perspective shaped by adaptability, perseverance, and an understanding of the different paths a legal career can take.
“Through my work as an attorney, I’ve seen firsthand how legal issues can affect people’s lives beyond what appears on paper. My work often puts me in situations where people are dealing with uncertainty, stress, and sometimes very difficult circumstances. Those experiences have reinforced for me that behind every case, there is a person, a family, and a story. While the law plays an important role, meaningful impact often comes from human connection, compassion, and service. I’ve always believed that giving back is one of the best ways to keep perspective and stay grounded. Whether it’s helping someone navigate a difficult moment, connecting them with the right resources, or simply showing up for the community, those small acts can have a lasting impact.”
Bringing Experience and Perspective to Law Stein Anderson
That breadth of experience is also an asset in Aimee’s work at Law Stein Anderson. Her background in prosecution, judicial decision-making, appellate work, corporate litigation, and private practice allows her to approach legal issues from multiple perspectives and develop thoughtful strategies for the clients she represents.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Aimee is a proud mom and wife who values time with her family and the communities she is part of.
As she becomes more involved with FLOC, Aimee looks forward to continuing to build connections within Orange County’s Filipino-American legal community while bringing the same commitment to service and professional growth to her work at Law Stein Anderson.
