BIOGRAPHY
Monique Nevarez is an associate attorney with Law Stein Anderson and advises clients in the complex areas of tax planning, business formation and creating a solid estate plan. Her background as a tax associate with KPMG provides Law Stein Anderson clients experienced counsel on corporations, LLC’s, S Corp’s, and partnerships on tax matters including structuring corporate acquisitions and mergers with the utmost tax efficiency. Through an extensive and integrated analysis of her clients’ assets, she helps families reap the benefit of potentially minimizing income, property, and sales and use tax liabilities.
Monique’s knowledge of the ever changing and complex state tax laws, combined with her inherently compassionate, empathetic and positive approach makes her a favorite with her clients. She works collaboratively with families on wealth transfers involving trusts, succession planning, charitable contributions, and tax-exempt private foundations. She patiently demonstrates to families how her tax planning techniques will benefit them now and benefit their heirs after they are gone.
While at KPMG, Monique worked extensively analyzing contracts and helping clients determine tax qualifications for the Research and Development Credit within the IRS Code.
Prior to KPMG, Monique gained experience through a local law firm and Chapman’s University’s Fowler Tax Court Clinic where she drafted documents for landowner liability cases, real estate development and property rights cases, and developed strategies for tax dispute cases with the IRS.
Monique Nevarez, Esq., earned her Juris Doctor from Chapman University, with an emphasis in Tax law and Business law. During law school she was also Vice President of the Tax Law Society and Treasurer of the St. Thomas More Society. While concurrently working as a certified In-Home Caretaker, she achieved the Dean’s List, graduating from California State University Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a Minor in Economics.
Monique loves her two dogs (a Frenchie and a Rat Terrier), her family, and her Peloton – spending time with all four on the weekends. She also admits she became a good cook during quarantine, with the ability to whip up some pretty amazing pasta dishes.
