Matthew G. Stein Named Chair of the Board of Directors for Alzheimer’s Orange County

Law Stein Anderson is proud to share that Partner Matthew G. Stein, Esq. has been named Chair of the Board of Directors for Alzheimer’s Orange County (AlzOC), beginning a two-year term in July 2026.

Matt previously served as Vice Chair of the organization’s Board and has been involved with Alzheimer’s Orange County for several years. His transition into the Chair role reflects a continued commitment to an organization and cause that are deeply important to him.

A Commitment to Orange County Families

Since 1982, Alzheimer’s Orange County has served as a resource for individuals and families navigating Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, memory loss and the challenges that often accompany aging. Today, the organization provides education, care consultations, support groups, community resources, adult day services and other programs designed to support both those experiencing memory loss and the people who care for them.

For Matt, that mission is especially meaningful because of his personal connection to Alzheimer’s disease.

“Serving as Board Chair of Alzheimer’s Orange County is deeply personal to me. My grandmother had Alzheimer’s and watching her go through the disease showed me how much it affects the entire family. I also saw how meaningful the right support, education and resources can be. That experience made me want to stay involved, help other families feel supported and give back to an organization that does so much for our community.”

As Board Chair, Matt will work alongside fellow board members and AlzOC leadership to help advance the organization’s mission, strengthen its impact throughout Orange County and ensure families continue to have access to meaningful education, resources and support.

Leadership Beyond the Practice of Law

Matt’s involvement with Alzheimer’s Orange County also closely reflects the work he has spent much of his legal career doing: helping individuals and families navigate some of life’s most complicated moments.

As a Partner at Law Stein Anderson, Matt focuses his practice on probate and trust litigation, representing clients in complex disputes involving trusts, fiduciary duties, elder abuse claims and other estate matters. Through that work, he regularly sees the legal and personal challenges families can face when a loved one becomes vulnerable, incapacitated or passes away.

His service with Alzheimer’s Orange County provides another way to support families—not only when legal issues arise, but through education, advocacy and access to resources before and during some of life’s most difficult transitions.

Looking Ahead

Stepping into the role of Board Chair marks a new chapter in Matt’s service to Alzheimer’s Orange County, but it continues a commitment he has already demonstrated through his years of involvement with the organization.

During his two-year term, Matt looks forward to supporting AlzOC’s leadership, fellow board members, volunteers and community partners as they continue expanding the organization’s reach and helping Orange County families affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

We are incredibly proud to see Matt take on this leadership role and look forward to supporting him and Alzheimer’s Orange County throughout his term as Board Chair.
