Zeb Law Enters His 20th Year of Teaching at Chapman Law School
For nearly two decades, R. Zebulon “Zeb” Law has spent part of his year doing something beyond advising clients: helping prepare the next generation of attorneys.
This year, Zeb enters his 20th year of teaching at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law, where he currently teaches Estate & Gift Tax and Wills & Trusts. The milestone reflects a longstanding commitment to legal education and to sharing the knowledge he has gained over more than three decades of practicing law.
Bringing Real-World Experience Into the Classroom
As a Partner at Law Stein Anderson LLP, Zeb focuses his practice on estate planning, business planning, tax planning, and trust and probate administration. His work frequently involves sophisticated estate and gift tax strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families, giving him a wealth of real-world experience to draw from in the classroom.
That practical perspective is especially valuable in subjects like estate and gift taxation and trusts, where understanding the law is only one part of the equation. Students also benefit from seeing how those concepts come into play when working with actual families, assets, businesses, and long-term planning goals.
A Longtime Connection to Chapman Law
Zeb’s involvement with Chapman extends beyond the classroom. He also serves on the Chapman University Estates & Trusts Advisory Committee and the Chapman University Endowment Council, furthering a relationship with the university that has now spanned nearly 20 years.
His teaching is also backed by an extensive background in both law and taxation. Zeb earned his bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Long Island University, C.W. Post College before receiving his Juris Doctor from American University’s Washington College of Law and his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
Since beginning his legal practice in Orange County in 1993, Zeb has built a career at the intersection of estate planning, tax, and wealth preservation. He has implemented advanced planning strategies resulting in millions of dollars in estate and gift tax savings for clients and has advised on matters involving assets totaling billions of dollars.
Beyond his work with clients and students, Zeb has served on state bar committees, testified as an expert witness in contested trust matters, lectured nationally on estate planning, appeared as a guest expert on talk radio, and authored numerous articles on estate and tax planning topics.
As he begins his 20th year at Chapman Law, the milestone is a fitting reflection of a career that has paired deep technical knowledge with a commitment to passing that knowledge forward.
